John founded Rhythm and Keys in the spring of 2003 and currently teaches about fifty students from beginner to advanced. He began studying piano at age 7 and earned his bachelors degree in music from the University of North Florida classical piano department. John has over 18 years of teaching experience and offers classical, jazz, rock and improvisation methods in his lessons. He is also the organist and choir director at St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Katy was instrumental in the founding of Rhythm and Keys. As well as being co-owner, she is responsible for the day to day operations of the studio. Katy is also a 1st grade teacher at Neptune Beach Elementary.
Danny has extensive playing and teaching experience. He is a graduate of the University of North Florida music department. He also works with Caribbean Percussion and plays in his church band. Danny's lessons provide a good balance of theory, technique, and improvisation. He is also highly proficient in drum line and snare technique.
Micah graduated from Jacksonville University with a degree in Music composition. He is comfortable in teaching both Suzuki and traditional methods. Although successful in teaching children, Micah is also able to introduce violin to beginning adults. Micah also performs regularly with other artists and singer-songwriters.
Kim has attended the University of North Florida studying music technology & production and vocal performance. She was formerly a member of a few bands in Jacksonville, all of which had very contrasting musical styles. She has experience teaching children voice and piano. Kim is comfortable teaching many different styles of voice and enjoys teaching children how to perceive music in new and unique ways.
Bill has been obsessed with guitars since the age of ten, continually studying the instrument as a life-long passion.
A very active guitar player, he enjoys playing in all genres of music with all skill levels of musicians in a wide range of styles,
including Classic Rock, Pop, Heavy Metal, Jazz, Blues and Be Bop Swing.
As an instructor, he is patient, excited and exuberant about helping others understand the complexity and beauty of the instrument. Excitement stems from learning solos and songs, building bands with students, and gaining experience while learning theory and building technical development.
Adam is currently studying music business and jazz guitar at Jacksonville University. He teaches many different styles of guitar including blues, rock, pop, and jazz. He also teaches beginner piano lessons with students as young as 4 years old. Adam preforms regularly alongside other local musicians at restaurants, bars, weddings and concert venues in the Jacksonville area. Adam is also the head of the music department for the boys and girls club in Neptune beach.

Ashley Nicolette Whaley, known as "Nickie" by her friends and family, was born in Nashville, TN. Her music career started at age 10 when she received her first violin from her father and started her journey with music lessons. She attended both LaVilla and Douglas Anderson here in Jacksonville before studying Classical Viola Performance at Stetson University (De Land, FL) and Belmont University (Nashville, TN). She is now taking classes and performing the viola with the University of North Florida's Symphony Orchestra in Jacksonville, FL.
Anna has been a musician all her life, humming tunes before she could talk. Anna was very active in chorus, band, and musical theatre during her school years. In 2009 she earned a Bachelor of Music from Berry College, studying Music Education with a Voice concentration. Anna then founded the music program at the YMCA in her hometown of Waycross, Georgia. For five years, she taught private lessons (piano, voice, guitar, & saxophone) and Pre-K classes at the Y. Anna enjoys teaching students of all ages and skill levels, and creates lessons that allow students to have fun and learn music!
